Hospitality

The Hospitality Committee operates on an all-volunteer basis. Its purpose is to provide social activities and events for Lake Tamarisk members and guests. Any funds raised from these events are used to purchase items for the Lake Tamarisk Desert Resort Clubhouse or to beautify and improve the Resort. Occasionally, we assist with community projects involving children.

Everyone is welcome to participate. If you are a park member or even a long-term guest, we encourage you to attend.

Events & Activities

Held in November in Kennedy Hall for all members and guests. Bring a finger food and your own beverage.

This is a potluck dinner held on Thanksgiving Day at Kennedy Hall. Bring your own place setting (plate & flatware) and your favorite beverage. Volunteer signups are posted at Kennedy Hall.

This event is held the first Sunday in December. Activities include a 9-hole scramble, a hot dog and beverage stand, and a raffle for homemade lemon meringue pies. Proceeds go towards purchasing toys for local kids ages 1-18. 

In December, folks decorate their golf carts for a parade through the park, around the lake, and to the fire station, singing carols. Cookies and coffee with Baileys are served afterwards at the fire pit or Kennedy Hall, depending on the weather.

This is a potluck dinner held on Christmas Day at Kennedy Hall. Bring your own place setting (plate & flatware) and your favorite beverage. Volunteer signups will be posted near the time of the event.

This is a potluck brunch held on New Year’s Day. Bring your own place setting. Complimentary Bloody Marys will be served. Volunteer signups will be posted near the time of the event.

This annual event is held in mid-January at the CSA Hall. Tickets are sold for this dinner. Everyone gets a large potato and then chooses from a variety of delicious toppings. Bring your place setting and your favorite beverage.
This is a non-profit organization whose goal is to assist our local Lake Tamarisk Library through volunteering, solar grant applications, purchases of equipment or materials, and promoting education and the use of the library. Support of Friends is by an annual membership drive. A book sale is held the first Saturday of February in conjunction with the Lions Club breakfast. An Annual Meeting is held once per year with a keynote speaker. Everyone is encouraged to join.

This event is held on or near Valentine’s Day at the CSA Hall.  Tickets are sold in advance for this event. Bring your place setting and your favorite beverage. There is music and dancing after the dinner and any 50-year anniversaries are celebrated.

A rummage sale, raffle, and silent auction is held at Kennedy Hall on the last Saturday of February. Hot dogs, chili, homemade pie, and beverages are available for sale. Items for the sale and auction are provided by the residents of the park. This is a fundraiser for Hospitality.

This event is held on or near St. Patrick’s Day at the CSA Hall.  Tickets are sold in advance for this event. Bring your place setting and your favorite beverage.

This is a potluck barbecue held in April for anyone who is still left in the park.
