Quads

If you are an ATV enthusiast, you will enjoy Lake Tamarisk Desert Resort. Except for Desert Center and the solar farms, the Chuckwalla Valley is largely undeveloped desert with areas and roads just waiting to be explored by the off-road adventurer. The area is filled with mines, rock formations, historic sites, and remote regions of quiet, undisturbed beauty.

From November to March, there are women’s and men’s group rides led by experienced guides from the park. There are also less formal group rides to Chiriaco Summit for Sunday breakfast or to Table Rock for hot dog roasts. Details are below.

“Rat Patrol”

The men ride Tuesday mornings. The route for the day is usually decided that morning. Sometimes the group will split up into smaller groups so that riders can choose between longer or shorter or more technical rides.

When:  Tuesdays, 8:00 am
Where:  Meet near the Garbage/Compound

What to Bring:  Drinking water, first aid kit, sun protection, sand buff/bandana, lunch, and phone/GPS

Make sure your gas tank is topped off – always leave with a full tank!

“Broads on Quads”

The women ride periodically on Wednesday mornings. The route for the day is usually 30-40 miles and will be posted on the Lake Tamarisk Desert Resort Facebook page ahead of time.

When: Wednesdays, 9:00 am
Where: Meet near the Garbage/Compound

What to Bring: Drinking water, first aid kit, sun protection, sand buff/bandana, lunch, and phone/GPS
